I help authors and publishers ensure that technical and scientific writing is both correct and clear. I’ve worked on academic books, journal articles, textbooks, manuals, conference proceedings, and dissertations. I also provide English language editing of journal articles and fact checking of educational materials.

All of my writing and editing is human powered. That means that anything I write or edit is done without the use of AI. Likewise, I do not edit AI-generated content.

Copyediting

• improving the flow and clarity of a text at the sentence and paragraph level

• ensuring that the author’s voice is maintained while improving style

• checking spelling, grammar, syntax, punctuation, and references

• checking formatting of headings, lists, tables, and figures

• ensuring that the document conforms to a particular style sheet

• cross-checking and copyediting reference lists

Proofreading

• making a last pass on an edited document to ensure that it is free of grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes

• checking formatting elements including headers, figure legends, lists, tables, numbering, and cross-referencing
